Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

*Baptism –Greek definition- to immerse, submerge, to make whelmed, to wash. *Everyone who was baptized in scripture, was completely immersed or buried in water for baptism. *Romans 6:4-Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. *Colossians 2:12-Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

*Matthew 28:19-Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: *Father, Son, Holy ghost are not names, they are titles. *Notice the scripture says NAME, not names. *Not one single example in Bible where anyone was baptized using this mode or formula. *Colossians 3:17-And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. *One NAME Name of the Father- Jesus -John 14:9, Isaiah 9:6-Read Name of the Son- Jesus -Luke 1:31, Matt 1:31 Name of the Holy Ghost- Jesus -John 14:26

*John Baptist-baptized for repentance and to prepare the way for the New Covenant. *Besides this all baptisms were done in the Name of Jesus Christ. *Acts 2:38 -Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. *Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. *Acts 8-Samaria receives the Word of God-READ

*Acts 8:14-Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: 16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) 17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. *Phillip and the Eunuch: Acts 8:26-40 *Acts 8:36-The Eunuch says, What hinders me to be baptized?

*Paul the apostle was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. Acts 9:17-18 *Cornelius and is Family were baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. Acts 10:44-48 *The Roman Jailor and his family were baptized. Acts 16:30-34 *Crispus (chief ruler of the synagogue) and all his house. And many of the Corinthians, were Baptized. Acts 18:8 *Disciples of Ephesus were RE-BAPTIZED and filled with the Holy Ghost. Acts 19:1-6

*All Baptisms in scripture were done with complete immersion and in the Name of Jesus Christ. *The New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge pg.435 – ”The New Testament knows only baptism in the Name of Jesus, which still occurs even in the 2 nd and 3 rd centuries.” *Maurice Canney’s Encyclopedia of Religions (1970) pg. 53:”All persons were baptized at first, in the Name of Jesus Christ, or in the Name of the Lord Jesus…Afterwards, with the development of the trinity, they were baptized in the name of Father, son, holy ghost.” *Encyclopedia Britannica, 11 th ed. (1910), II, pg.365: “ The trinitarian formula and trine immersion were not uniformly used in the beginning…Baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ [was] the normal formula of the New Testament.”

*Christians today should use the biblical baptismal formula as found in the New Testament. Everyone should be baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ ! *WHY-(what exactly does it do?) For the Remission of Sins !! Remission-pardoning, freedom, liberty, washing away of ones sins. Acts 2:38 *Luke 24:47-And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
