CST Requirements To remain in good standing within the University and the CST, all CST students are required to maintain a minimum 2.00 GPA – Each semester – In the major – Overall (Cumulative) Students must successfully complete a minimum of 123 overall credits. At least 90 of these credits must be within CST or CLA. At least 45 of these credits must be upper level (2000+) credits within CST or CLA (or other upper-level courses required for your major).

Courses Inapplicable to Graduation Credits earned in the following courses are inapplicable towards your CST degree: Mathematics 0701 and Math 702 Repeated Courses Equivalent Courses (i.e. English 0802 & English 0902) “Backtrack” Courses (lower level courses 2 levels below a student’s level of progress within a sequence of courses, especially language or math)

Withdrawal Policy Any course that is withdrawn after the add/ drop date will be recorded on the transcript with a notation of “W” “W” indicating that the student withdrew. The last day to withdraw in fall 2011 is Monday, October 31 st. Repeating a Course Consult with an Academic Advisor before repeating a course All students are permitted to repeat a course one time. Students who wish to repeat a course a 2 nd time must obtain permission from their home school/college and will need assistance to register All course withdrawals, with the exception of Excused withdrawals (WE) are included in the course repeat count NO STUDENTS MAY REPEAT A THIRD TIME!! If in the allotted number of repeats, students are unable to successfully complete courses that are required for their majors, they must meet with their academic advisors to discuss alternate graduation plans.

Repeating a Course cont. If in the allotted number of repeats, students are unable to successfully complete the following university requirements (including their course equivalencies), they will be dismissed from the university: o English 0802, Analytical Reading and Writing o IH 0851, Mosaic: Humanities Seminar I o IH 0852, Mosaic: Humanities Seminar II All occurrences of a given course will appear on the student’s transcript Only the highest grade will be used in calculating GPA Except for courses designed to be taken multiple times, credit for a given course will be granted only once. No change in a student’s undergraduate GPA is made after a baccalaureate degree is awarded

Transfer Credits Sealed official transcripts, with final grades or AP scores, are required for transfer credits. Pre-health track students should consult the school of interest regarding AP credits and transfer courses. At least half of your major courses must be completed at Temple. All students take the Math placement exam, regardless of transfer credits. Math or science transfer credits over 5 years old are subject to review by the College. Graduation Progress Reports and Reviews Graduation Progress Report (60+ credits) Schedule a Progress Report when you have 3-4 semesters remaining. Ensures you are making academic progress towards timely graduation. Tracks classes that need to be taken in a specific semester. Lists Major, University, and CST requirements needed to graduate. Graduation Review (90+ credits) Required of CST students prior to the first semester of their senior year. Details the courses completed and those that remain for graduation. Review is forwarded to the your department for faculty advisor’s approval.

Freshman Seminar CST-specific one-credit course designed for students interested in gaining a better understanding of the academic and social components of college.
