How many patients use transport ? Is there an official transport complaints procedure ? Do any of the dialysis units transport providers come from a different NHS trust ? For standard (non stretcher etc) transport is the provider NHS or private ? Who is the provider for the above ? For medical – stretcher transport is the provider NHS or private ? Who is the provider for the above ? Is the transport contract standard for all hospital patient users, is it renal specific or is there a completely separate contract in place for renal ? Are patients or patient representatives actively involved in the consultation period before new contract is awarded ? Are patients involved in transport reviews on a regular basis ? Does your renal unit take part in county wide transport meetings which enable other trust to compare services ?
