Mud Diggers By: Billy Degitz

One summer day Billy decided to go mudding. he called his friends Tyler and Jake. They made plans to go mudding the next day.

The next day, in the afternoon, Billy went to the mud hole to wait for Tyler and Jake. After about ten minutes, they showed up to mud.

Billy went through the mud pit and made it through just fine. Jake’s up and he starts going but gets stuck about half way trough the pit.

Now Billy has to hook up to Jake’s truck because he needs pulled out. He gets Jake out.

Here comes Tyler! He goes in just a little. Then he just throttles out and you hear Bang! Bang! Bang! His motor blows.

Now Billy has to pull Tyler out. They decide if they can fix the truck. Tyler’s truck is junk because it blew up.

Jake and Tyler jump into the bed of Billy’s truck and go mudding. When Billy hits the mud hole all you hear is his roaring engine.

Billy almost tosses Tyler and Jake out of the truck’s bed. Billy was going through the mud pit as fast as a cheetah running after a deer.

The friends take a break from mudding. They decide to build a bonfire.

After the bonfire, Billy has to drive everyone home. They’re all so tired, and they could sleep forever.

Billy Degitz is a senior at the Lawrence County Career & Technical Center. He is enrolled in the Machine Technology program and is from the Union Area School District. I would like to dedicate this book to my friends.
