Advertisement, guidelines and application forms will be available during application window period on the AgriSETA website. Evaluation and applications – February & March. DISCRETIONARY GRANTS APPLICATIONS AgriSETA Due to limited funds, AgriSETA always places a limit in the funding of learning programmes. Skills Programmes – not exceed 25 learners and 24 credits. Learnership – not exceed 15 learners per application. Commodity Organisations – not exceed R Application forms are available on the website. Proposals not exceeding 10 pages on Mentorship & non credit bearing training. Emphasis is always placed on Scarce & Critical skills and PIVOTAL.

APPROVAL LETTERS & CONTRACTS AgriSETA Approval letters and contracts are usually issued in April. Contracts to be returned to AgriSETA within three (3) months. Training to resume once contract is signed and according to Training Plan. Funds regarded as contracted once contract is signed. At least 95% of Discretionary funds should be contracted.

CLAIMS & INVOICES AgriSETA Weaknesses in processing invoices identified and measures in place to rectify the problem. Mainly Learnership invoices are affected by this due system glitches. Staff reshuffling effected to address this. Invoices should be paid within 30 days. All supporting documents should be in place to expedite payment. Skills Delivery processes invoices up to Wednesday at 10h00. Payments only done every Friday. Ensure that your Tax Clearance certificate is valid when issuing invoice.

ARTISAN DEVELOPMENT AgriSETA Apprenticeship now known as Artisan Development. SETAs serves as Development Quality Partners (DQP) Manpower Training Act repealed and replaced by Regulations for Artisan Development. Artisan Development is Nationally standardised and is owned by NAMB. Trade Test Assessors, Moderators and centres to be registered with NAMB as Assessor Quality Partners (AQP)

RURAL DEVELOPMENT AgriSETA AgriSETA – Focus broadly on Rural Development, Co-ops and Youth development. Formation of partnership with Government departments. Department of Rural Development & LR-R10m Farm Together EPWP – R5.5m DAFF & NYDA – R4m. Finalizing partnership with Services SETA on rural development in six (6) Districts (Vhembe, Mopani, Alfred Nzo, OR Tambo, Unkhanyagude & Thabo Mofutsanyane)

NEW GRANT REGULATIONS AgriSETA 80% of Discretional funds to be allocated to PIVOTAL as per SSP. 95% of Discretionary Grants should be contracted/spend. Any unclaimed Mandatory Grants will be transferred to Discretionary by 15 August each year. Allocation of DG should support SSP /Sector needs). APP should be clear on how DG will be offered though Public Institutions. DG Policy must set out how PIVOTAL programmes can be delivered through Public Institutions.

CHALLENGES AgriSETA Invoices not been paid within 30 days. Lead Service Providers and Lead Employers - concerns. Non and short payment of allowances by Service Providers. Poor practical exposure by certain Service Providers to learners. Non adherence to conditions in the applications forms for training. Non return of contracts by employers. Disregard of Scarce and Critical skills implementation by Employers as per SSP ( ). Land Reform is part of Skills Delivery Department – avoid duplication during application.
