041 DnA Implementation Update2 Background  DnA, the district’s new assessment data management system, is a comprehensive, multi-facetted program designed to enable teachers to develop, administer, score, and correlate teacher-driven formative assessment results without leaving their classroom.

041 DnA Implementation Update3 Breadth of Access  DnA’s reporting and keyboard-based data entry functionality is accessible from almost any computer within the district.  DnA’s scanning functionality is available from the majority of computer models in the district. Facilitate installation of Gradecam cameras (approximately 800) a) Grade 2-6 teachers b) Grade 7-12 ELA, Math, Science & Social-Science teachers 3. Set-up user accounts / permissions in consultation with LEA for non-teachers & non-administrators 4. Provide initial training for administrators / teachers / PPS / multilingual a) 23 sessions in JAESC Mac Lab b) 20 site-based sessions c) 3 online sessions 5. Import Q1 prior year results for teacher practice / report familiarization 6. Load prior year / current year student demographic information 7. Load STAR / CAHSEE / CELDT results 8. Program Q1 K-6 report cards into system / quality control review 9. Create Q1 district common assessment answer sheets

041 DnA Implementation Update6 Quarter 1 Top Tier Issues  Incompatibility between newer Gradecam plug in software and older Mac desktops Resolved Sept. 16  Insufficient processing speed on older Mac teacher desktops to handle Citrix & Scanning New machines to be ordered for site where this issue was discovered  Technical Assistance to teachers Ongoing joint shadowing by ARE / Technology Services staff now provided

Develop requested data analysis protocols for new DnA reports 7. Load prior year student demographics 8. Import requested prior year common assessment results 9. Facilitate development of alternative assessments for exempted groups 10. Provide weekly scheduled online training sessions 11. Design and program assessment to incorporate Read 180 results into DnA 12. Align eSchoolPLUS / DnA scheduling practices
