II. Mission: Rudder’s Ranger Company will conduct a Land Navigation practical exercise on the established Land-Nav. course to the northeast of the BFTC from OCT09 to OCT09 IOT familiarize first-year cadets with the practical applications of Land Navigation and prepare them for the tested event at BRC. III. Execution Commander's Intent: It is my intent for the company to deploy to BFTC in a timely manner, conduct 4 separate LN PEs, and release all cadets NLT OCT09. The key to successful training will be for squad leaders and team leaders to give their cadet’s individual instruction to correct deficiencies. Successful End state: All Brown shirts have participated in 4 LN PEs and have successfully completed a day and a night exercise without injury and with no equipment lost. Safety will be the key to the success of this operation. A. Concept of the Operation: This operation will be conducted in 7 phases. Phase I: Advanced Party This phase begins when the S3, S4, XO, and all available senior staff begin transporting equipment out to the BFTC and doing a final check of point locations NLT OCT09. This phase ends when the RR company is formed up on the grassy knoll. Phase II: MVMT This phase begins when the RR company is formed up with full accountability of all personnel and equipment NLT OCT09. The company will then step off for BFTC NLT 1600 after PCCs have been conducted. This phase ends with the RR Company’s arrival at the TOC/ SP area of BFTC NLT Stragglers will from-up on the grassy knoll NLT OCT09 and be transported to BFTC by the S-1. Anyone who cannot make this time will POV to the Land-Nav. Sight. Phase III: Land Navigation PE & RON Upon arrival at BFTC cadets will drop rucks in a company formation and immediately receive a briefing on the first PE. Cadets will begin plotting NLT OCT09 and will return NLT Over the course of the next several hours RR will conduct two night iterations, poncho shelter training/construction, RON, and another day iteration, which will end NLT OCT09. Phase IV: MVMT Begins with Company accountability formation following the final iteration of Day-Nav. After policing the area RR will step off for the O-Course NLT OCT09. This phase ends with the arrival at the O-Course NLT OCT09. Phase V: O-Course After arrival and accountability formation RR will conduct O-Course and Stamina Course. This phase is completed when all brown shirts have completed both events. Phase VI: Return MVMT Begins with Company formation and accountability following the O- Course completion. After policing the area RR will step off for main campus NLT OCT09. The phase ends with arrival at the Trigon NLT OCT09. Phase VII: Recovery & Release Begins with arrival at Trigon and ends when all equipment is recovered and the safety brief given to all cadets prior to release.
