Best Practice User Group™ An introduction

Our Vision and Mission Best Practice User Group™ the user group for programmes, projects and risks. Our mission is to help users adopt, use, share and shape the application of OGC PPM Products.

What we do – conference We hold a members-only conference each year  A good – and different – mix of topics  Expert session leaders  Personal development opportunity  Case studies, discussions, question panel, news and updates  Networking

What we do - workshops We organise practical regional workshops on topics of interest to members.  Free for members.  Small charge for non-members.  Limited to around 20 people to ensure that they remain practical and interactive.  Hosted around the UK.

What we do - congress We host the International Congress for Project, Programme and Risk Management  Mix of approaches – ‘how to do it’, case studies, research reports, news.  Mix of topics – individual subjects, integration, wider issues.  Members attend at a discounted rate.

What we do – even more  Provide members with Project Manager Today magazine.  Offer a discount to members for TSO books.  Make downloadable resources available to members – reports, forms, guidance, workshop notes etc.  Offer access to PM4Success website (operated by APM Group Ltd)  Offer a 10% discount to members off a public exam run by APM Group Ltd  Offer trial licenses to use the ILX Group Ltd on-line courses.  We also represent users on the PRINCE ®, MSP, M_o_R ® and PPM Examinations Boards.  Other offers are made available from time to time.

Membership  Individual: one website account, discounted congress place, one copy of PMT, free workshops, one public exam discount voucher, trial license for on- line MSP course.  Corporate: unlimited website accounts, discounted congress places, five copies of PMT, workshops, one public exam discount voucher, trial license for on-line MSP course.

Management  BPUG ® is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee – no shareholders, no profit distributions.  It is independent of OGC and its partners, although it has close relationships with all.  Directors are from across the user community.  Day-to-day management and administration is conducted by a team of two people.
