Proposals of the projects for PPTB in NMP priority According to the draft version of the NMP Work Programme 2005: 1.Third call of priority 3 (NMP): New Instruments (IPs); area of Development of new processes and flexible, intelligent manufacturing systems topic: New construction products and processes for high added value applications Closure date: (first stage), 17 March 2005 (second stage), 15 September 2005 PPTB in NMP December 2004 ASM – Centrum Badań i Analiz Rynku

Project should: promote the industrialisation of human friendly, efficient, sustainable, inherently safe and secure construction added value processes and the underlining business model; have strong industrial leadership; creating high value added in the whole construction process: ► design, construction and operation to maintenance ► components manufacturing ► refurbishment and decommissioning; use life cycle management strategies; use sustainable construction processes; use new high performance materials; use deployment of nano-materials; use new processes and systems; use information technology. demonstrate progress towards innovative high-performance construction components and products including the underlying processes and practices

2. Third call for IPs dedicated to SMEs in priority 3; area of Multi-functional technical textiles for construction, medical applications and protective clothing Closure date: (first stage), 17 March 2005 (second stage), 15 September 2005 PPTB in NMP December 2004 ASM – Centrum Badań i Analiz Rynku

Scope of interest: tensile structures, protective clothing against thermal and other risks, use in industry. Project should: be industry led - SME, but relying on scientific and technological cooperation with universities and research centers; use nanotechnology based solutions for breakthrough applications; develope new functionalisation techniques (e.g. for anti- bacterial, photochromic, anti fire, slow release, etc); intelligent encapsulation techniques, thin layer coatings with organic, inorganic hybrid materials and new techniques for integration of smart sensors and actuators. consider toxicity, societal, ethical aspects and specific metrology issues.

Expectations Scientific excellence in materials / processes for construction sector Company from textile industry Company from nanotechnology Your proposals... PPTB in NMP December 2004 ASM – Centrum Badań i Analiz Rynku
