World War 2! By Sarah Commons !

Facts!  World War 2 started in Europe on the 1 st of September  It ended in the summer of  Around 50 million people died.

How it started!  Hitler invaded Poland.  He said he did this so Germany could get back all the countries that Germany lost in world war 1.  When Britain and France heard about this they declared war on Germany.

Facts 2  During the war people were evacuated from big cities to the countryside.  People brought gas masks with them wherever they went.  All windows were blocked out.

Concentration camp  Hitler set up concentration camps.  He sent all Jews to them.  He also sent people that didn't look like Germans

Anne Frank!  Anne frank was one of these Jews.  She spent world war 2 hiding.  While she was hiding she wrote a diary during this.  She got her diary for her birthday.  Anne had one sister.  Her name was Margot.  They were sent to concentration camp called Bargen Belsen on October 1944

Adolf Hitler  Adolf Hitler was born on the 20 th of April  Even though he became chancellor of Germany he was born inAustria  He loved art.  He fought in the German army in world war 1.  He was appointed chancellor on the 30 th of January 1933

War in the Pacific  The war in the Pacific began on December 5 th  Japan attacked pearl harbour.  When this happened America entered the war.  America invented the atomic bomb and dropped it in japan.  It killed over 78,000 people.  After this japan surrendered

Blitzkrieg!  Blitzkrieg was a German tactic.  It means lightening war.  It was a fast way of wiping other enemy's.  It was a surprised attack.
