2.  Before the war even started, Hitler was enraged about the humiliation the Versailles peace settlement brought to them.  He wanted all the countries back that Germany had lost during the First World War.  He became Chancellor of Germany in 1933.  Later on while he was Chancellor he convinced the German people that they needed the countries and that Germany would become a more powerful Country.

3.  Adolf Hitler was born on the 20 th of April 1898.  He became the leader of Germany in 1933.  He was born in Austria but then moved to Germany.  The way he wanted all Germans to look was, blond hair, blue eyes and to be tall.  He had a wife and three children.

4.  In the concentration camps Communists, Jews and Gypsies were held.  They were made work hard all the time they were there, if they didn’t work hard enough they were shot.  Experiments like, sterilising, checking how much pain they can hold and diseases were planted in some of them to see how they can heal the disease if they couldn’t heal it they just left them to die.  Those experiments were held on the prisoner's.

5.  Neville Chamberlain was the Prime minister of Britain when the war started.  His plan was that if he kept Hitler happy he wouldn’t do any damage.  He managed to keep him happy for a while but then Hitler got too greedy and invaded Poland.  A while before Hitler invaded Poland, Britain and France had said if he invades another country they will declare war on Germany

6.  Blitzkrieg means lightning war, the Germans used it to invade other countries who were not ready for the attack.  There was some resistance but most times they just surrendered.  When Blitzkrieg was happened there could hardly be a fight because it all happened too fast.  Blitzkrieg could beat other countries nearly in the blink of an eye, 5 countries got beaten in one month.

7.  Anne frank was born on the 12 th June 1929.  While WW2 was on she kept a diary, she named it Kitty.  The war started when she was 10 years old.  She and her sister Margot Frank died in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.  The only survivor from her family was Otto Frank her father.  She hid in an annex because she and her family were Jewish

8.  Winston Churchill was elected prime minister of the UK after Neville Chamberlain. The only reason a new prime minister was needed was that Neville Chamberlain was not very good in a war situation.  He and his army got defeated by Germany once but then they joined up with America and Defeated the Germans.  After the Germans got defeated there was the Iron curtain put up, there then was east and west Germany

9.  In Ireland the Second World War was called the emergency.  During the Emergency there was a big food shortage and people had to start growing crops by themselves.  Ireland was neutral during WW2.  The food ships that were going to Ireland were sunk.  During WW2 there was only a few other neutral countries.
