Spanish Conversation & Culture con la Señora Matić (“MA-teach”) en el salón 300 Semana 3 (Week 3) 1

Content Objectives: (WHAT) Correct homework Take vocabulary quiz Distribute textbooks & workbooks Begin the celebrations! Language Objectives: (HOW) View answers on screen & read aloud with partner Use pen to answer quiz questions on ½-sheet of paper (perrito o hot dog) Distribute/assign texts & workbooks with scan gun Sing! ¡Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana! (Happy Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States, 9/ /15!) Necessary materials: las placas (license plates/name tents), su libro de composición o una hoja de papel (your composition book or a sheet of paper), un texto (a textbook) y la tarea de la sopa de letras terminada (completed wordsearch homework) 2

3 (Homework correction) You are responsible for your learning. This means you are expected to correct your own work, unless otherwise instructed. Corrección de la tarea REMEMBER: Be honest! Pay attention to details! Make corrections as necessary!*** Ask any questions you may have… now’s the time! ***You could have gotten every answer WRONG initially; as long as you FIX your errors so you can LEARN from them, you’ll get 100% of the credit for COMPLETING the work! (key word)

Administración del examen 4 (Test Administration)  Saquen papel (Take out paper – split with partner)  Usen lapicero (Use a pen)  Sigan las instrucciones (Follow directions)  Levanten la mano para preguntar algo en pleno prueba (Raise your hand to ask a question mid-quiz)  Terminen a tiempo (Finish on time) (Good luck!)

¡Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana! (Happy Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States, 9/ /15!) ADDITIONAL necessary materials (as the week progressed): las copias distribuidas (the handouts distributed in class this week)… (1) palabras interrogativas/alfabeto y guía de pronunciación/descripciones con SER; (2) el paquete de “Brief History of Mexico” 6 Since textbook distribution had some technological glitches, we had to reorganize a bit. The next slide shows how you would label your textbook, once it is checked out to you for the semester. Perhaps next week! This gave us time to review the handouts listed above (as necessary materials), and to start our “Quién soy” project (ideas draft). It also took time away from our celebration of HHM… we’ll sing next week (see lyrics of songs in the “Brief History of Mexico” packet, and other related YouTube videos online!... once the website situation improves!).

Textos y cuadernos 7 (Books & workbooks) El sistema de identificación de la escuela… On inside cover: Your legal name, my name, classroom #, and year ( ) Ejemplo: Oso Polar (Sra. Matic, Rm. 300, ) …¡y a la casa!Take them home! (Thank you!)
