Teacher Training College in Wrocław Presentation made by: Łukasz Myślicki Anna Opalińska Anna Staszczyszyn

Wrocław One of the symbols of our city are dwarves. There are many kinds of dwarves, for example, Snoring Dwarf, Prisoner Dwarf, Butcher Dwarf or Smith Dwarf.

Kind Dwarf (Życzliwek) is the symbol of kindness of Wrocław people.

We’re going to watch his adventures on the Day of Kindness, an annual event held in Wrocław on the 21st of November. Every year on this day he goes out to look for friendly people. This year he wandered into the Krzyki district.

He found out that it is a very beautiful area. There is a beautiful park, pretty streets and charming old houses.

Suddenly, he spotted a big building surrounded by trees.

The Kind Dwarf decided to learn something more about this place from which he could hear so many happy voices. He looked at the plaque and found out that he was in front of the Teacher Training College.

He went in for a visit. Immediately after Życzliwek entered the school, he could feel a delightful aroma. Following it, he came to a spacious canteen.

Życzliwek noticed there was a stage and a piano in the canteen. He was curious, so he asked one of the students about them. The student explained that the hall is used both as a canteen and a place for special ocasions, such as the opening of the academic year or the graduation ceremony.

Życzliwek was walking around the ground floor and visiting different rooms. There was the Student Affairs Office…

the Headmaster’s Office…

the Photocopy Room…

… and the library.

Then he went up the stairs and visited the classrooms. He took a look into a phonetics laboratory, where students practise their pronunciation, make recordings and listen to teaching materials.

He visited IT classrooms, where students learn to use computer programmes and can access the Internet whenever they want.

He found the lecture hall, where all lectures and exams take place. There is also a display of students’ winning competition projects.

Walking around the college, the Dwarf could hear foreign languages: English, French and German. He also saw a lot of exchange students from Germany and France!

The dwarf noticed that there were still many students at the college even though it was getting dark. The headmaster told him that students can study in different systems: day studies, evening studies and weekend studies.

After a long and interesting trip around the college, the dwarf decided to have a rest. He went upstairs to the last floor. There is a dormitory for female students of the college. He found it so cosy that he decided to spend the night in one of the rooms.

In the morning merry voices of children woke the dwarf up. He found out that pedagogical practice takes place at the college. Children come for lessons given by college students.

He also saw a construction site. The students explained to him that this was a new building that would be a part of the school.

Życzliwek thought that this is one of the kindest places he had ever seen. He liked it so much that he decided to stay with us!

Thank you for watching!
