Events That Lead Up To The American Revolution By: Jennifer Cunningham

Why were many colonists angry at the British government about the Stamp Act? The colonists had no representation in Parliament.

Why did the Sugar Act anger the colonists? Colonists had to pay a tax on sugar. Colonists had no part in making the tax law.

What role did the Boston Tea Party have in the American Revolution? Colonists became angered over a tax on imported tea. Members of the Sons of Liberty, disguised as Mohawk Indians, stirred up conflict by dumping British tea into the Boston Harbor. British passed a law saying that no ship carrying colonial goods could leave Boston Harbor until colonists paid for all the tea that was destroyed.
