Questions on Notice Sandi Wooton (UOW) Recently there has been lots of interest on the RDA topic list regarding books that lack publication dates, but have future copyright dates. ie they have been published in 2013 but the copyright date is Has LA formulated a policy regarding where to record the date/s in the 260 or 264 and 008 MARC fields when this situation arises?

Questions on Notice Rosalind Waters (SLNSW) Is the transmission of bibliographic record updates made on Libraries Australia to WorldCat supported yet? If not, will future updates support this and when will this be implemented? Rob Walls advised in an librariesaustralia-l dated 30/11/2011 regarding bibliographic updating on LA records on WorldCat that: “The next version of CBS (version 6.0) will support transmission of bibliographic record updates to WorldCat. Libraries Australia plans to implement this version early in Libraries Australia sought advice from OCLC regarding the WorldCat record updating policy. They advised that the policy is to apply record updates to WorldCat only if the update is supplied by the library that originally contributed the record. This includes the replacement of URLs." Both OCLC and PCC have specific policies on hybrid records. Does Libraries Australia have a policy on hybrid records?

Questions on Notice Ania Szafjanska (SLSW) Name Authority headings that were upgraded on LA to the rda standard (E.g. 'approximately' replacing 'ca.', 'active' replacing 'fl.') Issue: most of the upgraded headings were done as a Global change, and do not have an earlier form of heading in the 400 field (also, the authority records are very basic, and do not contain full LC data). This creates a lot of maintenance and extra work on our local system. When can we expect to have this situation changed? Authority headings on LACC that were not updated to the current LCA format Issue: Who is responsible for the work on updates? Often there are many authorities with subdivisions that have to be work on, not just the main heading. Should the work be done by participating cataloguing agencies, or could we report these situations to LA?

Questions on Notice Robert Deininger (SLNSW) Recently I was advised by the help desk that certain unavailable $4 relator codes would be made available after the next database update. Are updates performed at regular intervals or only as required? Our Library would like to know to better manage workflows and provide accurate feedback to staff.
