Training: Training: disaster awareness and emergency preparedness; importance of disaster preparedness plans and kits in homes, business, and vehicles. Volunteer Service: Volunteer Service: Citizen Corps provides the infrastructure for getting citizens involved in supporting the first responders in their community.

 Neighborhood Watch Programs (NWP) Integrates awareness and education into existing crime prevention and serves as a way to bring residents together to focus on disaster preparedness and training.  Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS) Community Provides support for police departments with volunteers  Emergency Response Team (CERT) Trains people in neighborhoods, schools, workplaces in basic disaster response skills in emergency preparedness  Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Coordinates volunteer health professionals to provide support for community during emergencies PROGRAMS of CITIZEN CORPS
