The performance category can be on of the most exciting ways to participate in History Day, because it is the only category in which students present their research live. Entries in this category must have dramatic appeal, but not at the expense of historical information. Chautauqua for Students Choose a dead historical figure then Research, Read and Write about them. Student must develop and present in costume! Consider some kind of prop. (hide notes) Students develop outline of their presentation as well as research charts and bibliography Make a presentation in costume for 7-10 minutes, two minutes for questions, final 2 minutes out of character for questions from audience.
