17 + Tips and Tricks Have all information, pictures and music picked before you start recording Write out your script to read unless you are having a discussion or an interview. For an interview have a list of topics to discuss. This makes for a smoother sounding podcast, easier to listen to and less re-recording due to mistakes. For the first podcast expect 3-4 class periods. Subsequent podcasts (if they have their information collected ahead of time) should only take 1 class period to record and 1 to edit.

18 + More Tips and Tricks Be aware of copyright laws when using music. If using Garageband, all jingles are copyright-free If using Movie Maker check your school’s copyright policy for using music clips Be sure to check your school’s media release policy before posting any podcasts to the web Flickr.com is a great place to get copyright free images. Be sure to check the Creative Commons section of the website to see if it’s available to distribute.
