How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts? The ones we were told to select for the course were the CD Cover ( back/front) By Richard Maguire

To create an effective front cover, I had to research a variety of hip-hop rap cd front covers and discovered that they all had a kind of average style of simple and effective placements. From my Music video media product and cd front cover they do not show much interlinks as we didn’t take photos at the music video shoots sites, however the artist is using the same stance style as in the music video, wearing the same style of clothing,which could show a link between the ancillary product and the main product (Music video).Also by making the product simple and modern will be vital to the success of the products as our target audience is of teenagers aged 14-25, where there in the stage of modernity, also I put my artist on a plain background as whilst looking at other cd front covers found it doesn’t need to be complicated to have an immediate effect. Again I thought that to create an effective ancillary product I would need to conduct research on the back cover, the same as front cover I discovered that the back cover would also need to be simple and have effective placements. The combination of the cd back cover and main media product ( music video) this time had more synergy as the cd back cover showed the working class, grimy estates lifestyle which links in the message of the main media product and the shots of the cd back cover was actually near to the places of the shot scenes in the main media product, but not complete synergy as the photos were not taken at the shooting sights, however I did use the same font styles, colours and basic layout for the ancillary product and main product which could give a basic level of synergy, this was also important as it kept it simple for the target audience.
