Analyze the following Carlos paga sus gastos personales. Carlos pays his personal expenses. Not in the subjunctive because it is a statement of fact. Los padres de Carlos quieren que él pague sus gastos personales. Carloss parents want him to pay his personal expenses. This is subjunctive because it is an action desired but not necessarily real.
