mPGES is expressed in epithelial cells in benign and malignant tumors of the colon. mPGES is expressed in epithelial cells in benign and malignant tumors of the colon. Nonneoplastic epithelium adjacent to invasive carcinomas expressed mPGES at extremely low levels (A, 100×). In contrast, tubular adenomas (B, 100×), invasive colorectal adenocarcinomas (C, 400×), and colorectal adenocarcinoma metastatic to a lymph node (D, 200×) showed marked mPGES expression essentially limited to epithelium without stromal or inflammatory cell immunoreactivity.
