Innovator Support Platform 3 tiers that integrates our services alongside our Partners Universal: standardised support available to all SMEs including access to our partner relationships 200+ SMEs per year Incubation: tailored support for selected SMEs utilising our assets and capabilities, and delivery partner offerings 12+ SMEs per year Acceleration: scale-up support for selected high-impact potential SMEs and links to investors. ~4 to 6 SMEs per year A three-tiered support service: Challenge calls Universal: standardised support available to all SMEs including access to our partner relationships Incubation: tailored support for selected SMEs utilising our assets and capabilities, and delivery partner offerings Acceleration: scale-up support for selected high-impact potential SMEs and links to investors. The ESC Offer to SME’s is a package of tailored support valued at £40-50K (50-60K for acceleration) to help progress on innovation journey to commercialisation. In kind benefit and counts as state aid/de-minimis Impact areas are typically: Partnering Industrial partner / JDA Licensing, distribution or re-seller agreement Funding New private investment Grant or industry funding Operational Improvement Business & Financial Model Team: critical hires Go To Market Plan (Target market, Channels, marketing plan) Finalising product/service design / mfr Technology sourcing Market Validation Pilot / Trial project 3rd Party Validation Product Launch First commercial sales (repeat) ESC Capabilities combined with Delivery Partner Network (‘Virtual’ Incubator / Accelerator)

Energy Catalyst Round 7 Innovate UK will invest up to £22 million. This is part of the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) and Transforming Energy Access (TEA) programme. The aim of this competition is to support highly innovative, market-focused energy solutions in any technology or sector. Projects must encourage the development of products and services that help countries in sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia or both regions access secure, low cost and low carbon energy. They must be targeted at people, public services and local enterprises who are unable to afford or access existing solutions, or who lack the time or expertise to successfully use those solutions. EC6 – 154 applications received; 117 eligible, 58 above 70% score. 18 projects funded. 18th September – deadline – be quick. It’s worth noting now that EC8 is already confirmed for May 2020 - £30m of funding. The missions will also have longer lead-in times. So get thinking about your project now!

Energy Catalyst Round 7 The EC7 fund has been split out into three strands (early stage feasibility studies, mid stage industrial research, and late stage experimental development). Value: Early Stage: £50k - £300K Mid stage: £50K - £1.5M Late stage: £50k - £5M   Project duration: All projects to start by 1/4/2020, and end by Early Stage: 31/3/2021 Mid stage: 31/3/2022 Late stage: 31/3/2023 Eligible costs must be between £50,000 and £1.5 million. Energy Catalyst Round 7 Proposals must respond to the energy trilemma (reducing emissions, improving security of supply and reducing cost of energy), transforming energy access and gender & social inclusion issues (GESI). Energy Catalyst Round 7 Lead applicants Must be UK based Will be the recipient of the award and will distribute funding to international partners Must be a UK business (of any size) Will manage and be accountable for the finances of the project   The technical lead: Can be from anywhere in the world Will lead on the development of the work Can be a business (of any size) Must claim funding through this competition UK-based businesses of any size can be both the administrative and the technical lead. Projects must involve some research and development, testing or demonstration General ESC title
