Why has the Manual been Structured in this Way? Chapter 1 concentrates on the ILO three most important Conventions on OSH (i.e. C.155, C.161 and C.187): - The framework for national policies, laws and regulations on OSH. - Trade unions need to have a vision of their national policies, laws and regulations concerning OSH. Chapter 2 focuses on the profiling of risks to which workers are exposed to at their places of work.

Why has the Manual been Structured in this Way? Chapter 3 concerns the HIV/AIDS pandemic and the world of work and ILO R.200, which together with the ILO Code of Practice on HIV/AIDS and world of work are the reference documents used in the development of national policies and programmes as well as for coherent union action to overcome this human tragedy. Chapter 4 is about OSH Prevention and Management

Why has the Manual been Structured in this Way? Chapter 5 outlines the role of unions in relation to OSH at work.
