Earth Day Webquest Introduction: Earth Day is now recognized throughout the world. By completing this webquest, you will learn about the history of Earth Day and why it is such an important day.

Process You will use the Internet to research information about Earth Day. Record the answers to the questions below on your worksheet: 1) What is Earth Day? 2) When was the first Earth Day celebrated? 3) Who was the founder of Earth Day? 4) Name one problems or issue that the Earth faces. 5) List three things that we can recycle.

Task In order for you to become an expert environmentalist, you will need to complete the following tasks: 1) Print the webquest question/answer sheet to record your questions. 2) Use websites to answer Earth Day questions. 3) Create a “Save the Earth” poster using the information you researched. 4) Lead a class discussion about why it is important to save the Earth’s resources.

Subject knowledge appears to be good. Includes essential information about the topic but there are 1-2 factual errors. Content is minimal OR there are several factual errors. Presentation Well-rehearsed with smooth delivery that holds audience attention. Rehearsed with fairly smooth delivery that holds audience attention most of the time. Delivery not smooth, but able to maintain interest of the audience most of the time. Delivery not smooth and audience attention often lost. Attractiveness Makes excellent use of font, color, graphics, effects, etc. to enhance the presentation. Makes good use of font, color, graphics, effects, etc. to enhance to presentation.
