What differences between the text and the movie do you expect to see and why would these events be portrayed differently? OR 2.) How do you think a movie director who is working on an adaptation of a text decides what he is going to include or exclude in his film?

Do Now: Answer one or both questions, and turn and talk with your tablemates. Captains will prepare to share with the class. 2.) Movie Viewing: Together we will watch the 1996 adaptation of Romeo and Juliet and compare it to Shakespeare’s text. Looking at both will help us better understand the play. 3.) Reflection: How did watching the movie reinforce your understanding of the play and its events so far?
