Rebranding Mission BEFORE: The Office of Educational Technology (EdTech, formerly OIT) provides the physical environment where a team of support staff and mentors can work on a one-to-one basis with the faculty on the design, implementation and use of technology in the curriculum. AFTER: The Office of Educational Technology (EdTech) develops, implements, supports, and promotes innovative integration of technology into teaching and learning by empowering faculty, serving students, and creating a supportive environment for all types of learners.

Initiatives Hybrid Initiative Part of a CUNY-wide initiative to increase the number of hybrid (33 – 67% online) course offerings at campuses started in Spring 2010 Program participants develop a hybrid course section, under the guidance of a mentor (current Hybrid course instructor) and EdTech staff members Participants attend a series of required workshops ETLC members review the courses using the Hybrid Designation checklist developed by the ETLC and approved by the Office of Academic Affairs ETLC Approved course sections are offered the following semester Participants and mentors are paid a stipend

Initiatives Hybrid Initiative Results: 100% success rate All five Fall 2011 participants are teaching their Hybrid sections in Spring new participants are currently developing their hybrid courses Spring 2012: 32 Hybrid course sections offered Spring 2010: 12 Hybrid course sections offered Breaking through to formerly resistant disciplines Example: Anatomy and Physiology and other sciences
