PHYSICAL AND AESTHETIC FEATURES SOUTHBOHEMIAN REGION JINDŘICHŮV HRADEC CASTLE TYPE OF SITE Historical castle PHYSICAL AND AESTHETIC FEATURES Originally a Gothic castle from the 13th century. It is the largest castle complex in the Czech Republic after the Prague Castle and Český Krumlov. DATING 1260-1270 HISTORICAL/SCIENTIFIC/ARTISTIC INFORMATION The founder was Jindřich z Nového Hradce. In the years 1560-1596 the castle was rebuilt and gained Renaissance elements. In the castle there are paintings from the 16th century and the equipment in the style of Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and Classicism. 3 3
