BRATISLAVA REGION THE RED STONE CASTLE TYPE OF SITE Historical castle with The National Museum PHYSICAL AND AESTHETIC FEATURES It is the most beautiful castle in the Malé Karpaty mountains, situated just several tens of kilometres from Bratislava is one of the best preserved Slovak Castles. Today, the castle is a seat of the specialized Slovak National Museum branch concerned with the housing culture of the nobility and in Slovakia. The visitors can admire the famous times of the castle and scenes from its rich history primarily during fencing festivals and falconers shows. Summer night tours of the castle also have their special atmosphere. AREA COVERED 32,52 km2 HISTORICAL/SCIENTIFIC/ARTISTIC INFORMATION This castle was completely rebuilt as a fortress in the first half of the 16th century. When the Pálffy family acquired the castle in 1588, the fortress was completed, and it became a representative noble castle. Although the castle was damaged several times by fire, it was always reconstructed by the Pálffys, who were the owners of the castle until the Second World War. Today, the castle is a museum. VISITING TIME From October till April: Monday: closed Tuesday – Sunday: 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. From May till September: Monday – Friday: 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Saturday – Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. One tour lasts 75 min. LEGAL OWNERSHIP Since 1949 the castle is public culture property. TICKETS AND BOOKING You can choose between tour in Slovak and a foreign language. Tickets for tour in a foreign language: Adults: 8€ Youth 6 – 18: 4€ Kids 3 – 6: 2€ Kids 0 – 3: free Family ticket: 19€

6 Disabled people are able to get there by a car. FACILITIES
SLOVAKIA Bratislava region ACCESSIBILITY You can get there by car, bus or on foot from the village Častá or Píla. Disabled people are able to get there by a car. FACILITIES In the castle area you can find a wine tavern, a restaurant, a café and toilets.
