Title: 9-Week Progress Check
Presentation transcript:

If you did not do so yet, join Google Classroom: Period 7- kw08xsk Period 8- m4lg2iy Period 9- 8kyxg9k Period 1- 8ekow1 Period 2- 2w6eix Period 3- nkvs77q These are ‘A’ Day Periods! You have Homework on Google Classroom too!! If you were absent today, this is what we did:

The Marshmallow Launcher Challenge! Materials per group: 4 popsicle sticks (2 skinny, 2 fat) 4 rubber bands(3 skinny, 1 fat) 2 pencils (not allowed to break!!) 1 meter of masking tape 2 paper cups 1 clothespin scissors & hole punch The Challenge: You and your group have 20 minutes only to design and build a device that can launch a marshmallow at least 1 meter. RULES: You may NOT begin until the teacher says go! You must sketch a design first. You may only use the provided materials, but you do not have to use them all. Everyone in the group must participate.

Your Homework is to reflect on today’s activity Your Homework is to reflect on today’s activity. It should be written in your Science Journal. It should already be decorated! Make sure your name and Science Period is on the front. Every assignment in your Science Journal must have the title in the center and that date on the right-hand side.

The first page should already have your science definition on it: Skip the second page. (We will be making a table of contents there.) On the 3rd page, write this title and today’s date, like so: 9/6/16 Marshmallow Launch Reflection

REFLECTION PROMPTS to guide your writing: Note: In science we ALWAYS write in complete sentences that can be understoodf without knowing the questions!! What process did you use to make your design? Did you change anything from your original plan as you built? Explain what and why. How well did your design work? (If you had time to test it!) How did you bring science and/or your previous experience and knowledge into your design?’ How well did your team work together? Would you do anything different if you could do this again?

Don’t forget you also need to complete the Science Survey linked on Google Classroom!
