Welcome Parents and Students! 3rd Grade 2018-2019 1

University Academy Mission Statement and Vision The mission of University Academy is to prepare students to succeed in an institution of higher education and to become leaders in society. The vision of University Academy is to become the best K- 12 college-preparatory charter public school in the country with an emphasis on college preparation, career development, community service, and leadership.   2

Meet Mrs. Conner Hello!  I am so excited to be teaching Third Grade Math for the 2018-2019 school year.  I have been a teacher at University Academy since 2010. During that time, I have taught both 3rd and 4th grades. I graduated from Park University in 2001 with my degree in Elementary Education. I also have an ESL degree from Kansas State University. I have two daughters and two beautiful grandchildren. I love to read, crochet, and play games. 3

My Commitment to Parents I promise to care for your child and to help your child reach the highest levels of excellence. I promise to teach your child to be a critical thinker and problem solver. I promise to teach, encourage, and support your child. 4

My Commitment to Students I promise to teach you all of the things you will need to know in order to be a successful 3rd grade mathematician. I promise to always have high expectations for your learning and behavior. I promise to care about you, listen to you, and encourage you. 5

GO TEAM! Our college is the University of Kansas. We will have many team competitions this year where students will be able to represent their college. Every student in grades 3-5 is a part of a college team. Look for more news about our team! 6

Student Expectations Arrive to school on time and prepared. Follow all school and class rules the first time. Give your best effort on all tasks. Ask for help when you need it. Participate appropriately in group activities. Turn in your best work. Turn in assignments and homework on time. 7

ClassDojo All 3rd grade teachers will use ClassDojo to track and communicate behavior. You will receive directions with a code to access your child’s ClassDojo account. We love ClassDojo because it allows us to promote positive behavior!
