Mrs. Pregosin’s 3 rd Grade Class Reading & Writing

About Me! I graduated from Elmhurst College in 1997 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I have been at Fay Galloway for 8 years. I have taught kindergarten, first grade, and third grade! Third grade is my favorite!! My husband is also a teacher in middle school and my son attends Foothills HS. I love animals; especially my cat Creamy Tickles!

Daily Schedule You will begin your day with your homeroom teacher, (Mrs. Pregosin) for morning announcements and attendance. We rotate our schedule based on A and B weeks. An (A week) means you will be with your homeroom teacher for Reading and Writing until recess & lunch. A (B week) means you will switch after morning announcements to Mr. Bennion for Math, Science, and Social Studies. You will return to your homeroom teacher after lunch. Your daily specials are from 12:25-1:15. In other words, you are lucky to have two AWESOME teachers!!

Class Expectations and Rewards My expectations for students are simple; Do your best, NO excuses! I will be handing out “You’re a HOOT” raffle tickets to students who do their best! The more raffle tickets you earn, the better chance you have to win the weekly prize!

Homework Policy Word Work homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday night. A Word Work test will be given on Friday. Directions for each Word Work activity will be sent home weekly with your child’s weekly word list. Parental help is required for most activities. Word Work should not take more than 15 minutes nightly. Please read for 30-45 minutes every day. Homework will be checked daily. Students with incomplete homework will lose recess time. Homework NOT turned in on a regular basis will result in a parent phone call or conference. You just never know when I may hand out “You’re a HOOT!” raffle tickets for those who complete their homework.

I would really love your help this year! Parents can help in many ways; Working with students in the classroom. Helping the teacher with copies and bulletin boards. Providing treats for class parties. Donating fun items for weekly class raffles (Ask me ). Chaperoning on field trips. **If you are interested in volunteering this year, please fill out an orange form on the front whiteboard. Thank You, Mrs. Pregosin
