3 My Philosophy Learning is a process that never stops. In my classroom, I encourage students to be critical thinkers and to ask questions and seek answers. I believe every student has a unique learning style, and I do everything I can to create or find lessons to meet the students where they are and then push them in the direction they need to go. Every child can learn and succeed.

4 In order to have Outstanding Attendance & Citizenship, students should…
Be respectful, responsible, and ready at all times. Follow directions the first time given. Speak at appropriate times. Complete all assignments to your best ability Be at your BEST and have a WINNING ATTITUDE!!!

5 Behavior Management Behavior clip chart: clips move up for good behavior at any time. Paper Link Chain When complete, the class is rewarded with extra time at recess or other reward. Verbal Praise, “Happy” notes/call home to parent, reward choice. All of this will lead to an amazing classroom environment where learning comes first!

OOPS! Unfortunately, positive reinforcement is not always successful.  In such cases, the following steps are taken: 1.  Warning 2.  Lose 5 minutes of recess 3.  Note or call home to parents 4.  Sent to principal

7 Effective Work Habits & Academics
Students will keep a homework agenda/notebook. Students receive nightly homework in Math and Language Arts. 20 minutes minimum reading is required nightly. Homework is to be completed neatly in a homework notebook (kept like a diary) Conduct folders will be sent home weekly to be read and signed by parent/guardian.

8 Parent Volunteers Needed
Be a room parent! Call other parents to remind them of upcoming events, etc. Help copy or cut out materials, activities, or worksheets. Assist with recess, celebrations, school events. Please sign up in the office for Parent Volunteer training. We LOVE our Parents!
