A Juan y Carmen (these emphasize who you are talking about) These must be used when you have le or les but otherwise they are optional 2) indirect object pronoun (me, te, le, nos, les) 3) the verb gustar (gusta, gustan) *when a verb follows gustar, always use gusta Subject (in our case the activity that the person/people like to do)

I like to swim. (A mí) me gusta nadar. He likes to paint. A él le gusta pintar. We like to scuba dive. (A nosotros/as) nos gusta bucear. Julio and Carmen like to eat french fries. A Julio y Carmen les gusta comer papas fritas.

Felipe doesnt like to do homework. A Felipe no le gusta hacer la tarea. You(formal) dont like to fish. A Ud. no le gusta pescar. Do you like to speak Spanish? * to form a question just put question marks around the statement! ¿(A ti) te gusta hablar español?
