DENSITY. Density is the measure of mass per unit volume of substance. So, density is a measure of the amount of matter (particles) in a given volume (space)
In what ways can we measure density? Topic 1: Density.
In the figure to the left the blue dots are the matter (particles/atoms/molecules) which will add to the mass of the object. The amount of space the box.

Particles and Density How does the arrangement of particles effect density ? How is density calculated ?

What material has the greatest density ?

Density is how much mass is packed into a certain space or volume. Density is measured in g/cm3 or kg/m3. Water density at 200C is 1g/cm3. Copper density at 200C is 8.92g/cm3. Density of lead at 200C is 11.42 g/cm3.

Gas Density and State Solid Liquid Most substances get less dense as their temperature increases and they change state. Gas Liquid Solid

….. except water ! 0.9167 g/cm3 1 g/cm3
