Question 3 | What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Our film is... Our film is a independent film as their was no budget and we used simple equipment to create the shots used for our piece. We also decided on a independent company as all the actors involved are not big stars and are up and coming actors so it would be unlikely to have a mainstream film with new actors. The film is also more for a niche audience so wouldn't be very big and it also doesn't have any special effects unless they have been edited in.

Our distribution company... We have chosen Entertainment one as our distribution company as they are and independent company and not mainstream and they also have distributed similar films before. Entertainment one have distributed films such as “The Woman in Black” and “The Hunger Games” which are similar to our film. “The Woman in Black” is similar because it is a Thriller film and also uses dark and eerie themes which are similar to our film as we use the woods. “The Hunger Games” is also set in a woods which is where our opening title sequence is set and it is also got a female protagonist like our film. Another similarity to “The Hunger Games” and our film is that they are both based on a novel.
