Why is Nelson Mandela great? Nelson Mandela is great because of his long fight against bad government and racial prejudice. He became a hero to people all over the world. As South Africa’s President, he was respected for his courage and wisdom in bringing people together to live in peace.

In the past 30 years, more and more laws were passed to take away our rights and stop our progress. We were being given fewer and fewer rights. Today we have almost lost all our rights.
