Bio & Conflict of Interest Statement Dr. Colleen Carney

Bio Dr. Colleen Carney is an associate professor of psychology and director of the sleep and depression laboratory at Ryerson University.  She is the president of the behavioural sleep medicine interest group at the association for behavioural and cognitive therapies. She has over 100 publications and presentations in the area of sleep and comorbid illness, is an active trainer of cognitive behaviour therapy for insomnia and is passionate about improving access to evidence-based sleep treatments.

Conflict of Interest Statement The following course modules presented by Dr. Colleen Carney are intended to provide an overview of evidence-based approaches to addressing insomnia in those with depression. As a CE course, these modules are intended as an overview only, and not an in-depth review. Individuals interested in more comprehensive coverage of these topics are encouraged to pursue further formal training, such as that offered through a university or specialized training program. Dr. Colleen Carney has received tri-council funding for insomnia research and previously received National Institutes of Health funding for CBT clinical trials. She is also a member of the General Sleep Corporation’s scientific advisory board. However, neither the CPA, Dr. Carney, nor the General Sleep Corporation receives any commercial support for this CE program. Any opinions presented in this course are solely Dr. Carney’s.
