2. Bio Jeremy F. Mills (Ph.D., C.Psych) is the Acting Regional Director Health Services for the Ontario Region within the Correctional Service of Canada providing executive oversight to the delivery of physical and mental health services to over 4000 offenders through the services of approximately 300 health care professionals. Additionally, Dr. Mills maintains a private practice and is an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University. Dr. Mills holds a MA from Queen’s University and a Ph.D. from Carleton University. He is the past Chair of the Criminal Justice Section of the Canadian Psychological Association and has been awarded the Significant Contribution Award by the Section. His research interests lie primarily within four areas: the assessment of risk for violence, antisocial attitudes and associates, assessing depression and risk for suicide, and the perception of violence risk. His research has resulted in over 40 peer reviewed publications. More recently Dr. Mills has co-authored a comprehensive treatment program for offenders with mental disorders. As a result of this work, Dr. Mills has been awarded the Public Service Award of Excellence for Scientific Contribution by the Governor General of Canada.

As a CE course, these modules are intended as an overview only, and not an in-depth review. Individuals interested in more comprehensive coverage of these topics are encouraged to pursue further formal training, such as that offered through a university or specialized training program.
