Political Causes Autocracy Absolutism…extravagance 1905:Loss in Russo-Japanese War Bloody Sunday (part of Rev of 1905) ineffective Duma Tremendous losses in WWI: WHY? Spread of Marxist ideas

Economic Causes Inefficient industry Effects of total war from WWI such as food and fuel shortages Striking workers

Social Causes Rations during WWI Lead to riots in the streets many casualties and deaths from WWI Too few rich and too many poor (haves vs. have nots)
