Findley Oaks Elementary. Purpose In accordance with our School Improvement Plan goals, this report serves to give an overview of our students’ scores on the CRCT Reading, Language Arts, and Math over the past 3 years. It is the goal of this report to highlight our strengths and weaknesses in student achievement in an effort to improve learning at Findley Oaks Elementary.

Findley Oaks ES Student Enrollment by Ethnicity 2011-2013 Before I break scores down by ethnicity and subgroups, let’s take a minute to examine the makeup of the student population.

Findley Oaks ES CRCT Reading 3rd-5th Grade: Percentage of Students Achieving “Exceeds” Category By Ethnicity Data for two or more races does not exist prior to 2012-2013

Findley Oaks ES CRCT Language Arts 3rd-5th Grade: Percentage of Students Achieving “Exceeds” Category By Ethnicity

Findley Oaks ES CRCT Math 3rd-5th Grade: Percentage of Students Achieving “Exceeds” Category By Ethnicity

Findley Oaks ES Student Enrollment by Other Subgroups 2011-2013

Findley Oaks ES CRCT Language Arts 3rd-5th Grade: Percentage of Students Achieving “Exceeds” Category By Subgroup

Findley Oaks ES CRCT Math 3rd-5th Grade: Percentage of Students Achieving “Exceeds” Category By Subgroup

Weaknesses Scores of some ethnicity/race groups and student subgroups are lower* than the school average. On average for three years: Ethnicity Reading: African American 15% lower Language Arts: African American 17% lower, Hispanic 16% lower Math: African American 34% lower Student Subgroups Reading: ED 17% lower, ELL 40% lower, SWD 26% lower Language Arts: ED 14% lower, ELL 28% lower, SWD 34% lower Math: ED 21% lower, ELL 12% lower, SWD 34% lower Included figures for groups whose average was 10 points or more below the school average, did not include students of two or more races due to lack of historical data

Discussion Did you know about these achievement gaps before the data was disaggregated into different racial/ethnic groups and student subgroups? What strategies that are within the control of the school can we try to close these achievement gaps?

Thanks for watching!
