Grade 6 | Lesson 4

What Is Respect? Respect Sounds Like • Respect Looks Like • Grade 6 | Lesson 4

RESPECT Is for YOU and ME Respect Sounds Like: Respect Looks Like: Listen without interruptions. Stand face to face. Use a normal voice, not soft or loud. Maintain eye contact or attention. Use “I-messages,” not blame language. Allow personal space. Speak honestly and kindly about feelings, opinions, and needs. Ask clearly and directly for action. Grade 6 | Lesson 4

Relationship: Respect or Disrespect? Write your name on your card. Individually, read the situation on your card. Decide whether or not your situation shows respect for the relationship. Record your ideas: If you think the situation shows respect, explain why. If you think the situation lacks respect, rewrite the situation to show a respectful relationship. Grade 6 | Lesson 4
