Presentation transcript:

EURES Cross Border Partnership The Who, What, Where and When… Who…. European Employment Services – two arms, One to help people get jobs or employers to get workers across the EU or alternatively EU workers to get jobs here. Second arm is to help cross border workers, employers, jobseekers in the border region of Ireland – that is us The EURES Cross Border Partnership Ireland – N. Ireland.

EURES Cross Border Partnership Who…. We are a partnership of seven organisations, from both sides of the border, led by a steering committee and with advisers who carry out the day to day work. Partners are:- Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Department for Communities(DfC) Department of Employment Affairs & Social Protection (DEASP) Dundalk Chamber of Commerce Irish Business and Employers’ Confederation (IBEC) Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) Londonderry Chamber of Commerce

EURES Cross Border Partnership What …...do we do ? Assist employers by providing them with access to a larger pool of labour. Advice is also provided to employers on a range of cross-border recruitment issues. Help jobseekers from both sides of the border widen their net in their search for employment. Provide information to cross border workers on employment related issues e.g. taxation, national insurance, social security, secondary benefits etc.

EURES Cross Border Partnership Where… We cover the whole of N Ireland and the border counties of the Republic of Ireland, Louth, Monaghan, Cavan, Leitrim, Sligo and Donegal. We have advisers based in the partner organisations who carry out work on behalf of the EURES Cross Border Partnership. We also have a ‘One stop Shop’ website which covers all the work we do and the supports we offer – www.eurescrossborder.eu

EURES Cross Border Partnership When…… We have activities ongoing throughput the year to support our employers, workers & jobseekers, including Cross Border Job fairs, Cross Border Tax Information events, Cross Border Employer Support events, Adviser Network and Information Material and sessions. Always available at our web or on social media.

EURES Cross Border Partnership Priorities… Address skills mismatches and employment bottlenecks in the border areas. Provide clear, factual information in these unsettled times. Support our target groups of employers, workers and jobseekers with cross border supports.
