Assertion Assertion: A confident and forceful statement of fact or belief. (Begins the argument.) Ex: Television is a bad influence on children…

Reasoning Reasoning: a form of support for an assertion which provides an explanation for why the audience should believe the claim. Ex: …because it shows too much violence.

Evidence Evidence: to demonstrate or prove something. Example (Appeal to Authority: Scenario or Event) Statistics (Logical Appeal)
