Essential Questions October 7th-11th

ALA Standards Standard 3: Share knowledge and participate ethically and productively as members of our democratic society. Skill: 3.1.2 Participate and collaborate as members of a social and intellectual network of learners. 3.1.3 Use writing and speaking skills to communicate new understandings effectively. Standard 4: Pursue personal and aesthetic growth 4.1.3 Respond to literature and creative expressions of ideas in various formats and genres.

Write at least one to two paragraph summary answering at least 3 out of the 6 questions on your table. Your questions are as follows: Are the illustrations accurate----do they correspond to the content of the story? Do the illustrations complement the setting, plot, and mood of the story? Is characterization enhanced through the illustrations? Does the plot appeal to children? Is the theme worthwhile? Is the author’s style and language appropriate for children’s interests and age levels? Please use complete sentences and correct spelling/grammar. You will be assessed according to the rubrics on your table.
