IATE IATE – Interactive terminology for Europe : grew out of Eurodicautom, founded 1975 for the translators of the European Commission. IATE is the EU inter-institutional terminology database, used in the EU institutions and agencies since summer 2004 for the collection, dissemination and shared management of EU- specific terminology. Available for the general public since 2007.

History of IATE The project was launched in 1999 to provide a web- based infrastructure for all EU terminology resources. IATE incorporates all of the existing terminology databases of the EUs translation services.
