Colonia Middle School Ski/ Snowboard Club 2017-2018

What happens during a ski/snowboard trip? The morning of the trips students drop off jackets, equipment, etc. in a closet where everything will be locked up until we leave. Students called out of class around 1 pm to eat lunch and get ready. We leave CMS at 1:45 and arrive at FMS by 2 pm. We should be at Shawnee Mt by 4 pm. Get rentals Lesson Practice Dinner At 9:00 p.m. we leave to come home Parents pick up around 10:30pm AT FMS students call 10-15 min before we arrive.

Safety is #1 All students MUST wear helmets during their lesson and their practice time on the mountain. Students that do not have a helmet or are seen without a helmet will lose all ski/snowboard club privileges. No refund. Students must have a helmet that is specifically meant for skiing/snowboarding and not for biking or anything else.

Trip Dates We will be making three trips to Shawnee. Here are the scheduled trip dates: January 5, 2018 January 12, 2018 January 19, 2018 Make-ups: TBD

Cancellation due to inclement weather The school will reschedule a trip date. If your student cannot make the rescheduled date then he/she will only get a voucher. It can be used 7 days a week from 3pm-close, during this season. Students will be allowed to call their parents and inform them that the trip has been cancelled. Parents will be informed before noon that day.

What is included with the club fee? 1. Ski and snowboard lesson Lessons are mandatory 2. Lift Card 3. Rental Card (If needed) 4. Meal Card 5. Bus

Pricing The Shawnee fee is $ 180.00 for a student that needs a rental The Shawnee fee for a student that does NOT need a rental is $ 144.00 A SEPARATE fee is needed for the bus: $100.00 Cash or check to CMS

“Other things” recommended to bring on the trip: Extra money- if your child wants something extra from the snack bar Money for lockers- there are token machines- $2.00 last year Warm LAYERS- Under Armour WATERPROOF gloves WARM ski socks WATERPROOF pants Warm WATERPROOF jacket

Deadline All payments to Shawnee Mt, must be paid online by 10/27/17. The bus money must paid to Mrs. Semsel as soon as possible, but not later than 10/27/17.
