Infiltration -The flow of water from the land surface into the subsurface. Percolation- -The movement of water through the openings in rock or soil. Transpiration -The process by which water that is absorbed by plants, usually through the roots and is evaporated into the atmosphere from the plant surface, such as leaf pores. Interception- The process of interrupting the movement of water in the chain of transportation events leading to streams e.g. vegetation cover, ground depressions, ice and snow.
