PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT ZP WARDHA

Why To reduce MMR To reduce IMR To increase institutional delivery To reduce Low Birth Rate Baby (LBW) To ensure regular check up and monitoring of the health of the mothers To get real time data for better monitoring and supervision

ANC tracking- To improve control and supervision To ensure 100 percent registration of pregnant mothers To ensure the timely medical checkup( 5 times) and provision of nutritional support To identify high risk mother and to monitor their progress To ensure institutional delivery To ensure the timely payment of JSY benefits To ensure timely and complete immunization of children between 0-6 years To target eligible couples for adopting family planning methods To reduce female secondary Feticide by ensuring monitoring of USG centers

HowBy SMS based ANC tracking Every ANM has a cell phone- formed a CUG We have a data base of all the women in rural area aged As soon as a woman gets registered the ANM sends the SMS with all the required information to our server that updates the data The automatically generated alerts keep the ANMs on their toes regarding the action to be taken on each ANC case

SAMPLE REPORTS (High Risk Factors)

Advantages Very simple -a server, SIM Card and CUG- inconsonance with future technology when every thing will combine on cell phone Easy syntax therefore easy for ANMs to learn- no extra burden on them Register 15, 16, 17 and 18 are automatically generated Web based therefore one can see the data from any where Economical – no extra investment as most of the ANMs have mobile phones. Real time data for better monitoring Instant communication No other instrument is required like in other models where they are using simputers or touch screen based expensive mobile phones New data can be easily added
