Unlimited Government Early on in history, European leaders believed that an absolute monarchy with unlimited power would unify a nation and make it stronger. European monarchs believed their power came directly from God. This made them answer only to god. (Divine Right)

Representative Democracy -founded on the principle of elected officials representing a group of people

Constitutional Monarchy - a king or queen acts as Head of State; but the ability to make and pass legislation resides with an elected Parliament, not with the Monarch.
