41 Magna Carta In 1215 the English king signed the Magna Carta which established the idea of limited government.

42 No one is above the law!!! The Magna Carta stated that no was above the law, not even the king. This was the beginning of the unwritten constitution in England and led to the English Bill of Rights in 1689.
